The Pass Plus Scheme is an initiative to increase your driving experience and skills,if you feel nervous about driving on your own it can boost your confidence. A wide range of participating insurance companies will give a discount on insurance policies for new drivers who take this initiative.
The Pass Plus course can be taken at any time in your driving career: however the scheme is mainly aimed at new drivers within a year of passing their test. New drivers who passed their test more than a year before and are seeking an insurance discount should check participating companies to see whether they will be eligible before taking part in Pass Plus.
Minimum completion time for the course is six hours.
All Pass Plus training must be taken after your test.
There are 6 training modules which have to be completed to an achieved or exceeded standard.
The pupil and instructor must sign off each module on both a pupil record report and a training report form.
When this has been done for the 6 modules to the standard required then the pupil can send off their training report in exchange for a certificate that can be presented to participating insurance companies.
The certificate may be kept on hold for 2 years.
The certificate can only be presented for the holders first discount.
